Listen, I never do side ships; I fixate on the OTP (Fitzier, for me) and that's it. But the Terror broke me. Joplittle broke me. It was my gateway drug. Now I have an armada of little ships, but I always return to them. They're just so perfect for each other.

Ned is such a good lad, but he needs somebody who'd gently lead him. The responsibility of decision-making crushes him otherwise; and if he's with somebody who's too strong-willed, he'll let himself be bullied. I think Joppie's matter-of-fact "bossy" attitude would be such a great relief for him, and help him be his best self.

And Jopson just deserves somebody who'll be happy to rub his feet at the end of a long day, who'll reassure him he's doing well. I think he could rely on Ned just as much as Ned would rely on him. Ned wouldn't let him overtax himself. He'd always find ways to help, even when Jopson is in no condition to ask for it. They're a good team.
