Shall we start by asking the question of what flavor would be the wedding cake?

I think Francis would go with something no-nonsense, like a dense carrot cake or a bitter chocolate cake. He has a sweet tooth, but he won't let anybody know that. The cake doesn't have to be fancy. Its function is to feed the visitors. One (1) decoration at the top is sensible. He secretly hopes it'll have candles.

Meanwhile James is torn between a chocolate cappuccino torte, a lemon summer berry cake, a tuxedo torte or a salted caramel apple cake; maybe all tiers should be different? Rich frosting, edible flowers and gold flakes are a must, but it should also be personal, express his undying love to Francis: how does one say "I love you" in cake? Should he bake it himself, perhaps?
